Brazil: Corn harvest 2nd crop in the center-south advances to 1% of the area, says AgRural

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - The harvest of the second crop of corn in south-central Brazil had reached 1% of the estimated area until last Thursday, against 3% in the same period last year, according to data from AgRural. "The work continues to be concentrated only in Mato Grosso, where the pace remains slower than in the previous year", noted the consultancy.
According to the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), the 2022/23 corn harvest in Mato Grosso had reached 1.26% of the total area up to Friday, a weekly advance of 0.78 percentage points, but which was not enough to take a delay compared to the same period last year and the historical average for the time.
