Cotton-planted area decreases by 2.4% in the Western Bahia region, according to AIBA

The AIBA bulletin reports that the area allocated for cotton cultivation in the Western region of Bahia has been adjusted to 403 thousand hectares, a reduction of 2.4% compared to the previous cycle. Despite the reduction in the area, productivity remains stable, with a projection of 332 arrobas per hectare. With this, the estimated total production is 2.006 million tons of cotton in the boll. The reduction in the area may be related to crop rotation strategies and adjustments in agricultural zoning by the producers, which are not yet detailed in the bulletin.
