Vietnam's crab exports experienced a decline in 2021 but have rebounded in the first quarter of 2022, with over 91% of the total export value being accounted for by China, the US, Japan, and France. Exports to China and Hong Kong surged by 104%, making China the largest market, while Japan's imports increased by 18%. However, exports to Australia and Singapore declined. In the EU, France was the largest importer, and exports to the US grew by 78%, despite a decrease in US imports of Russian crabs. This provides an opportunity for Vietnamese crab exporters to compensate for the reduced Russian imports.
