Ecuador: Banana exports to the EU grow by 22.41%

Ecuador's banana exports accumulated from January to August 2023 stood at 247.96 million boxes, 7.17% higher than what was exported in the same period of 2022. Of the 247.96 million boxes exported from January to August of this year, 29.89% were destined for the European Union (27) as the main market; 20.72% to Russia as the second largest destination; 14.87% to the Middle East, placing it in third place; 9.39% to the United States as the fourth main destination; 6.90% were exported to the Southern Cone and 6.11% were exported to East Asia, ranking sixth; 5.22% was exported to Africa; 2.82% was exported to Central Asia as the eighth largest destination; 1.39% to Eastern Europe; 1.35% was exported to the United Kingdom; 0.89% to Oceania (New Zealand); 0.40% to EFTA (Norway); 0.004% to Canada; and 0.04% to other markets.
