Ecuador, the world's leading shrimp exporter, shipped 1.36 billion pounds of shrimp in the first half of this year, despite an 11% drop in exports to China. The country's shrimp production is largely exported, with 54% going to China, 24% to the US, and 22% to Europe. The US and European markets saw significant growth, with increases in orders from Spain, Italy, and France. However, the average price received by exporters fell by 10% compared to the first half of 2022.
