Egypt has become the main buyer of wheat from Ukraine.

In the first two months of the 2025–2026 marketing year, which began on July 1, Ukraine exported 1.456 million tons of wheat. This is reported by APK-Inform. The figure is 28% lower than in the same period last season, when 2.026 million tons of grain were shipped to foreign markets. Egypt has become the main buyer of wheat. Almost all major importers have reduced their purchases of Ukrainian wheat, with the exception of Egypt, which increased its imports almost twofold to 699 thousand tons and became the largest buyer at the start of the new season. Indonesia reduced its wheat imports from Ukraine by 13% to 528 thousand tons, Vietnam by 17% to 314 thousand tons, and Algeria by 28% to 268 thousand tons. According to analysts, shipments to Spain, which led in the first two months of 2024/25 MR, decreased by 69% to 243 thousand tons.
