Greek citrus exports are experiencing a plateau due to the introduction of Egyptian oranges in the EU markets. Orange exports have seen a rise from 146,074 tons to 163,076 tons, and mandarin exports have also increased from 116,642 tons to 140,435 tons from the previous year. However, the volume of Greek citrus exports is expected to decrease due to an anticipated 12% drop in Egypt's orange production caused by adverse weather conditions. Despite this, Egypt is still on track to be the EU's main supplier of fresh oranges. The extension of the EU trade agreement with Mediterranean countries, including Egypt, is imminent, and it will be interesting to see the Greek government's stand on the issue.
