‘Ensuring market diversity’···Hanwoo Ability Evaluation Competition, new category for non-calved cows introduced

To secure the diversity of the Hanwoo market, which is differentiated from Geseouwa, the non-calving heifer segment will be newly established and held starting with this year's National Hanwoo Ability Evaluation Competition. The Korea Livestock Improvement Association (President Lee Jae-yoon) will hold the "28th National Hanwoo Ability Evaluation Competition Non-Calving Heifer Segment Dispatch, Slaughter, and Auction Event" from September 1 to 3 at the Integrated Pukyeong Livestock Wholesale Market in Gimhae, Gyeongnam. The newly established non-calving heifer segment, starting this year's competition, is expected to see fierce competition with entries from 90 farms across the nation. After evaluation, a total of five prize-winning cattle will be selected, and the farm of the best prize-winning cow will receive the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award.
