In the second half of May, the producing units in the Center-South region processed 47.84 million tons compared to 45.36 million in the 2024/2025 harvest. In the accumulated harvest of 2025/2026 until the end of May, the grinding reached 124.77 million tons, against 141.54 million tons recorded in the same period in the previous cycle – a retraction of 11.85%. In the last half of May, seven units began the 2025/2026 harvest. At the end of the fortnight, 252 producing units were in operation in the Center-South region, with 232 units processing sugarcane, 10 companies manufacturing ethanol from corn, and 10 flex plants operating only with corn ethanol production. In the same period in the 2024/2025 harvest, 251 producing units operated, with 233 units processing sugarcane, nine companies manufacturing ethanol from corn, and nine flex plants.
