According to a market source, certain popular varieties are becoming difficult to obtain as supplies are dwindling. Dutch growers are under extra pressure to harvest on October 1 due to the new nitrogen limitation legislation; the legislation obliges growers on sandy soils to harvest before 1 October and to plant a nitrogen-absorbing catch crop.
