The European Union (EU) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable investments in Peru's water and sanitation sector, in line with the Global Gateway strategy. This initiative aims to foster cooperation, fair ecological transition, inclusive digital transformation, and sustainable economic growth. To further this, the EU and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Peru recently established the Water and Sanitation Working Group to encourage dialogue and collaboration for sustainable investments. Representatives from the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation, Proinversión and Sedapal in Peru, along with the European Union in Peru and various development banks, presented their investment portfolios for 2025 and emphasized the importance of closing infrastructure gaps and incorporating sustainability and the circular economy in projects.
