Exports of red shrimp and squid from Argentina surge dramatically.

In October 2025, Argentina's seafood exports reached an annual peak. According to the latest data from the Argentine Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries, the country exported 46,927 tons of seafood in that month, with an export value of 223.1 million U.S. dollars, representing a 27.4% and 66.1% increase respectively compared to the same period in 2024, mainly due to the strong recovery in red shrimp exports and steady growth in squid exports. Among these, red shrimp (Pleoticus muelleri) performed the most outstanding, with a monthly export volume of 21,975 tons, generating an export value of 166.9 million U.S. dollars, with year-on-year increases of 68.4% and 96.2% respectively.
