The Federation of Fruit Producers of Chile (Fedefruta) has warned that cherry export projections may be reduced due to notable fruit abortion in the Regina, Santina, Royal Dawn, and Lapins varieties. This issue, despite good flowering, pollination, and weather conditions, has not been caused by a proven reason and may be due to factors such as pattern, area, microclimate, or agronomic management. The Chilean Cherry Committee is currently collecting data to provide the official export estimate, which was previously projected to reach a record 657,935 tons.
