First cherry express for the 2024/25 Chilean cherry season arrives in China

China has welcomed the arrival of the first cherry express shipment of Chilean cherries for the 2024/25 season. The direct shipment operated by Ocean Network Express (ONE) arrived in China on 8 December carrying 5,000 tonnes of cherries, equivalent to 240 containers. To mark the occasion and the “official start” of the Chilean cherry shipping season for 2024/25, the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association Frutas de Chile held a ceremony at Guangzhou Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market. Attendees included Frutas de Chile president Ivan Marambio, executive director of the Chilean Cherry Committee Claudia Soler and representatives of Guangzhou Jiangnan Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market Management.
