Vietnam's aquaculture industry: Maintaining confidence, facing IUU challenges Throughout the first 8 months of 2025, Vietnam's aquaculture industry recorded significant growth: export turnover reached 7.34 billion USD, an increase of about 17% compared to the same period in 2024. In August alone, this figure reached 1.12 billion USD, an increase of approximately 14%, showing a positive start despite many fluctuations in the international market. In the export product structure, shrimp remains the leading product: reaching 2.97 billion USD, an increase of nearly 23% compared to the same period. Next is catfish with 1.42 billion USD, an increase of nearly 10%. Meanwhile, tuna, with a value of 633 million USD, decreased slightly by about 2–3%, reflecting difficulties in raw material sources and pressure from international regulations.
