From 1 June, companies for the sampling of tomato seeds and bell pepper seeds must either be BOOT-authorised, or NAL-authorised, or have the samples taken by a Naktuinbouw inspector. From then on, companies are only allowed to take samples themselves if they are BOOT or NAL authorized. BOOT was developed because as of January 1, 2022, sampling of tomato seeds and bell pepper seeds without authorization is no longer allowed when the test results are needed for an official statement. Companies that registered with Naktuinbouw for the BOOT module before 1 January 2022 and declared that they would work in accordance with the requirements, were given an exemption period until 1 June to meet the requirements and obtain the actual authorisation.
