The European wheat crop is expected to perform poorly this season, with significant losses in France and Germany. The Association of Wheat and Cereal Producers in France predicts a loss of 10 million tonnes of wheat, resulting in a harvest of only 26 million tons, leading to a potential loss of over 1.6 billion euros. In Germany, the grain harvest is projected to be 6% lower than the previous year, with over 60% of farms surveyed reporting a below-average harvest. Wet weather has negatively impacted the crops in both countries. Despite the weak harvest, wheat prices remain low due to the abundant supply in the international market.
