NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Global sugar prices are likely to remain high due to expectations of lower production in India, French trade group Sucden said on Friday.
According to Sucden, raw sugar prices could be traded between 22 and 30 cents per pound over the next 12 months.
"Prices are likely to remain strong," said Jeremy Austin, managing director at Sucden Brasil, on the sidelines of a sugar conference in New Delhi.
India is the largest global consumer of sugar and the second producer, behind Brazil.
