Russian exporters are actively shipping grain to foreign markets ahead of the anticipated grain export quotas set to take effect on February 15, as reported. Data shows a significant surge in grain shipments from various regions in January 2021 compared to the previous year. The Novosibirsk region saw a 2.5-fold increase, primarily exporting wheat to Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. Krasnoyarsk Territory and Ulyanovsk also experienced a doubling of their grain exports. Primorye reported a 2.3-fold increase, with China being the main consumer. The Saratov region also increased its exports, with Azerbaijan, Latvia, and Kazakhstan as the top buyers. The Kaliningrad Region also experienced a 30% increase in grain exports to European countries, mainly wheat and corn.
