Grain exports from Ukraine total 36.6 million tonnes so far in 2022/23

Ukraine's grain exports in the 2022/23 season totaled 36.6 million tonnes as of March 24, hurt by a smaller harvest and logistical difficulties caused by the invasion of Russia, data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture showed this Friday. The ministry did not provide comparative data for the same date in 2022. It reported that Ukraine had exported 44.8 million tonnes of grain as of March 27, 2022. Volume so far in the July-June season has included about 12.6 million tonnes of wheat, 21.5 million tonnes of corn and 2.26 million tonnes of barley. The ministry said that grain exports in March reached 4.29 million tons by the 24th. After a nearly six-month blockade caused by the Russian invasion, three Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea were liberated at the end of July last year through an agreement between Moscow and Kiev, brokered by the United Nations and Turkey.
