Grape exports in Q1 hit ‘highest’… doubled in one year

Published May 19, 2025

Tridge summary

South Korea has seen a significant increase in grape exports, with a nearly double figure rise compared to the same period last year, recording 1,412 tons and achieving the highest ever first quarter exports. The majority of these exports were to Taiwan, with Hong Kong, the United States, Vietnam, and Singapore also being key destinations. This increase is attributed to the high sugar content and quality of the country's flagship grape, Shine Muscat, as well as increased demand and improved price competitiveness. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is actively supporting overseas marketing to diversify the market and remove export barriers. Recent relaxations in quarantine standards for Shine Muscat exports to Australia are expected to further boost grape exports.
