Turkey: Hazelnut harvest in Kocaeli will be increased with improvement studies

Within the scope of the project, the teams of the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry provide hands-on training to farmers producing hazelnuts in their gardens on fertilization, pruning, and fight against diseases and pests. Deputy Director of Provincial Agriculture and Forestry, Yüksel Çil, told Anadolu Agency (AA) that during the village visits of Governor Seddar Yavuz, he decided to implement the hazelnut projects in Ordu in Kocaeli. Stating that hazelnut production was carried out on an area of 86 thousand hectares in 5 districts and approximately 14 thousand tons of product was obtained, Çil noted that the low yield in hazelnut orchards was striking.
