The U.S. Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent, announced that China would buy up to 12 million tons of soybeans by January and 25 million tons annually over the next three years. Analysts agreed that the news brought relief to American farmers, but it does not change their long-term situation. For Argentina, they considered the impact would be limited, or even beneficial, unlike Brazil, where a decrease in grains is expected. Bessent's statements came hours after the bilateral meeting between Donald Trump and Xi Jinping.
