In the first quarter of 2025, the Huánuco Regional Directorate of Agriculture's Cattle Project welcomed 311 calves born from artificial insemination, marking a significant advancement in the genetic improvement of cattle in the region. The project, which cost a total of S/15,049,392.80, is aimed at strengthening livestock farming in the provinces of Yarowilca, Dos de Mayo, Huamalíes, and Lauricocha. It not only focuses on reproductive improvement but also encourages the production and marketing of dairy products, aiming to enhance the sector's sustainability and improve the quality of life of producers. The project's comprehensive strategy includes organizing producers to enhance their market competitiveness and boost the value chain of the livestock sector in Huánuco.
