A report by the Proarándanos trade association reveals a bright future for Peruvian blueberry exports. In 2016, these exports were valued at US$237 million, or 11% of the global market, and involved shipping 27,000 tons, 6% of the global volume. By 2024, Peruvian blueberry exports are projected to grow to US$2.27 billion, or 33% of the global market, with a volume of 326,000 tons, which is 31% of the global total. The 2024-2025 season is expected to see a 15% increase in total exports, reaching 317,941 tons valued at US$2.15 billion. The organic blueberry segment is also on the rise, with projections for the 2024-2025 season to reach 34,501 tons, an 11% share of the total.
