In Russia, the production of commercial aquaculture has increased

In the nine months of 2022, the production of commercial aquaculture in Russia increased by 1.3% compared to the same period in 2021 and reached 277 thousand tons, according to the Telegram channel of the Federal Agency for Fishery. Growth was noted in the Far Eastern and Volga Federal Districts. Thus, 64.3 thousand tons were grown in the Far Eastern Federal District. This is almost 15% more than in 2021. The main volume of production falls on the enterprises of the Primorsky Territory: almost 61 thousand tons of aquaculture were produced in this region, an increase of about 9% compared to the same period last year. In the Volga region, production increased by 10% to 7.25 thousand tons. The top 3 macro-regions of leaders in the production of commercial aquaculture, except for the Far East, included the North-Western Federal (110 thousand tons) and the Southern Federal (57.7 thousand tons) districts.
