According to initial estimates, farmers in Saxony-Anhalt cultivated winter wheat on 308,240 ha for the 2022 harvest ( previous year: 297,189 ha). At 59.4%, winter wheat has the largest share of cereals (excluding grain maize and corn-cob mix). Cereals (excluding grain maize and corn-cob mix) are expected to cover 518,310 ha for the 2022 harvest, which is 1.9% more acreage than in the previous year (508,654 ha). According to the survey on autumn and spring sowings from April 2022, ripe this year on 485,397 ha of winter cereals. This means that the area under cultivation for winter cereals has increased by 1.1% compared to the previous year (2021: 480,064 ha).
