Between September 5 and 9, the average nominal forward price of a ton of cassava post-starch was R$ 934.93 (R$ 1.6260 per gram of starch), with a slight increase of 0.2% in comparison with the last week average. The real appreciation (deflation by the IGP-DI) compared to the same period last year is 96.2%. The weekly crushing of cassava by the starch industry totaled 32.7 thousand tons, according to Cepea estimates, a decrease of 34.9% compared to the previous period. It is worth mentioning that the starch yield has been showing consecutive drops. This week, the drop was 0.5%, to 502.34 grams (5 kg hydrostatic balance). Among the regions monitored by Cepea, the west of the state of São Paulo has registered greater availability of crops available for harvest, attracting demand to the region, mainly from companies in Paraná.
