The number indicated that Egypt is the world's first in date palm production, as it owns about 15.5 million palm trees, on a total area of about 135 thousand feddans, representing the total area planted with date palms in the governorates of Egypt. The total productivity of dates in Egypt is about 1.8 million tons, while the top 5 governorates in the production of dates in Egypt are as follows: Aswan, New Valley, Giza, Sharkia, and Beheira.
