Italy plays a leading role in the production of organic seedless grapes

The production of seedless grapes continues to grow worldwide. In Europe, Italy plays a leading role, both in conventional production of the fruit and in organic supply, with a total of 150,000 tons grown in Puglia (Apulia), Sicily and Basilicata, according to Sinab projections. Of the three, Puglia concentrates approximately 60% of the national production of organic seedless grapes. The annual growth in demand for organic seedless grapes is between 5 and 7% at European level. It is important to note that the market share of this product in the retail sector in Europe ranges between 5 and 10% of the total, with constant increases in the last three years.
