China: Jiangxi Provincial Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center went to Poyang County to conduct an assessment of compliance with schistosomiasis transmission interruption standards
From September 7 to 11, in accordance with the arrangements of the Provincial Blood Office, the Provincial Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center and the Provincial Research Institute organized experts to jointly set up a technical assessment team to conduct an assessment of schistosomiasis transmission interruption in Poyang County. The Provincial Animal Disease Prevention and Control Center is responsible for the assessment tasks of the livestock disease assessment team. The members of the livestock disease assessment team reviewed the archives, conducted random inspections and audits, monitored the monitoring ledgers, assessed the monitoring capabilities, and conducted on-site sampling and monitoring. Villages, Lingxi Village of Lianhu Township, Laoting Village of Shuanggang Town and other villages were randomly inspected to conduct on-site livestock disease assessment. Taking into account relevant factors, a total of 190 samples (including peripheral expansion and wild feces) were collected and tested using the fecal pilosa incubation method. A positive result was found, and a technical assessment report on livestock disease assessment was finally formed. The livestock disease assessment team unanimously believed that Poyang County met the relevant requirements for agricultural schistosomiasis control stipulated in the transmission interruption assessment standards.
