Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together with the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono and farmers planted rice in an area of approximately 75 hectares in Trenggalek, East Java, Tuesday (30/11/2021) . The agenda is a continuation of the previous event, namely the inauguration of the Tugu Dam. "We hope that with the Tugu Dam, which has been completed and can be used earlier, the farmers said that now they can harvest two times of rice and one time of secondary crops," said Jokowi. "With the Tugu Dam, the water has flowed to the rice fields here, it will be possible to harvest rice three times and crops once. So that the productivity of each hectare in Trenggalek Regency can increase drastically," he continued. Overall, according to Jokowi, rice production in East Java reached 5.7 million tons.
