Last year, Kazakhstan produced 200.8 thousand tons of rice (+ 16.1%). At the end of eight months of 2021, Kazakhstani producers ensured the demand for semi-, fully husked or split rice by 97.8% (+ 1.6%). Due to increased production, imports fell by thirty-six and a half percent over the year. In total, 3.4 thousand tons of rice were imported into the country. Exports, on the contrary, increased to 69.1 thousand tons (+ 7.6%). The share of this product among other goods exported abroad reached 45.5%. Sales in the domestic market also increased to 82.7 thousand tons (+ 7% per year). For eight months of this year, Kazakhstanis exported 70 thousand tons of rice ($ 20.2 million).
