Gyeongnam Province in South Korea saw a record high in agricultural and food product exports in 2023 with $1.373 billion, and is projected to surpass this figure in 2024 with an expected $1.48 billion, the first time exceeding 2 trillion Korean won at 2.7 trillion won. The main exports included fresh products like strawberries, paprika, oyster mushrooms, and persimmons, as well as processed foods such as ramen, cigarettes, tobacco, and coffee. The primary export destinations were Japan, China, ASEAN, and the United States. The province aims to further increase its exports to $1.53 billion in 2025 by diversifying export destinations, enhancing overseas marketing, and supporting the management improvement of export farms.
