The District Health officer (DHO) of the area, Abraham Kargbo, told FrontPage Africa that one of the dead animals was sent to the Ministry of Health in Monrovia for testing. Mr. Kargbo said in the wake of the unprecedented event, he immediately instructed the District Surveillance Officer to organize a team to bury the dead animals with a warning that they should not be eaten. FrontPage Africa has reached out to the Ministry, but it is yet to confirm the DHO's account. The Ministry's Communications officer, Felicial Gbesioh said she came across the news on Facebook but was not aware that specimen of one of the dead animals is being tested by the Ministry.
