Low-height corn varieties from former Monsanto (now Bayer) now have a clear path to be planted in Argentina

Through two regulations, Resolution 91/2025 and Resolution 92/2025, published in the Official Gazette, authorities from the Agriculture Secretariat released for planting two transgenic varieties of dwarf or low-height corn from the former Monsanto company, which was absorbed by Bayer in 2018. The German company had already anticipated that these varieties would be available starting with the 2026/27 campaign. The Secretary of Agriculture, Sergio Iraeta, on one hand signed off on "the commercialization of the seed, and its derived products and by-products, from corn with the accumulation of events MON-87427-7 x MON-948Ø4-4 x MON-ØØ6Ø3-6, which presents low plant height and glyphosate tolerance".
