Mango trade at Sapahar, the largest mango market in Naogaon, will remain closed today on the occasion of the inauguration of the Padma Bridge.The decision was taken at a meeting of the upazila administration with the lawmakers, peoples’ representatives, mango farmers and traders on Wednesday night, said Sapahar Mango Warehouse Business Association president Kartik Saha.Kartik Saha said that they had decided to close the mango trade for one day on Saturday to avoid any kind of embarrassment during the joyous procession marking the opening programme of the Padma Bridge. ‘In the mango season, there are a lot of traffic jams on the road every day. An embarrassing situation may be created on the day if there is a joyous procession as many members of the association will join the procession.
