MARS: Cereal yields in the EU may exceed the average

After a mild winter, winter crops emerged from wintering in good to excellent condition in most European countries, according to a report by the European agency MARS. According to MARS forecasts, the average yield of grain crops in the EU will increase to 56 centners per hectare, which is 2% more than in the current season and 3% more than the five-year average. The average yield of soft wheat may increase to 59.9 centners per hectare (+3% compared to the five-year average), durum wheat - up to 35.3 centners per hectare (+1%), winter barley - up to 59.1% (+2% ), rye – up to 42 q/ha (+6%).
