Live pig purchase prices The lower supply of live pigs on the domestic market, combined with high production costs, stimulates the increase in the purchase prices of pigs. On August 29 - September 4, 2022 (data from the Integrated Agricultural Market Information System of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), suppliers for pigs received PLN 7.72 / kg, which is 1% more than in the previous week and 9% more than a month ago. Pork livestock was 65% more expensive than in the comparable week of 2021. Similar price trends are recorded in the European Union. At the turn of August and September 2022, EU suppliers for class E slaughter pigs obtained EUR 209.34 / 100 kg, i.e. more by 1% and 7.5%, respectively, than a week and a month earlier, and by 49% than a year ago. In Poland, the price of slaughter pigs of this class expressed in euro was higher by 2% than the EU average and amounted to EUR 213.58 / 100 kg.
