Paraguay: From APPEC they forecast a promising second half of the year for meat, but they ask that the benefits also reach the producing sector.

The Paraguayan Association of Meat Producers and Exporters (APPEC) reported that the international market showed encouraging signs in the first five months of the year with prices around USD 5,670 per ton and that in May alone it stood at USD 5,757 per ton. In this context, they insist on initiating dialogues with the industry to find a balance in prices for the benefit of both parties and to encourage an increase in the cattle herd. APPEC President Ramiro Maluff highlighted that the global meat market shows encouraging signs whose benefits they seek to bring to the primary sector. In this regard, he detailed that Paraguay's foreign meat trade had significant milestones in May, such as the increase in meat exports to the United States, which placed the northern country as the second most important buyer of meat in terms of volume, surpassing Taiwan.
