The director in chief of the National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality (Senasica), Francisco Javier Trujillo Arriaga, visited avocado orchards in Sonora, to learn the technical details of the new plantations, make recommendations to protect the sanitary production of crops and specify the certifications issued by the Agriculture Agency, which allow access to more and better markets. In 2018, producers from the Yaqui Valley began planting this new crop in the Sonoran desert and, currently, 355.5 hectares have been converted, previously used for planting other products.
