In general, the level of self-sufficiency in fish in Russia at the end of 2022 is 153.3%, which significantly exceeds the figure set by the Food Security Doctrine (85%), the ministry emphasizes. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture proposes to exclude the goal of increasing consumption to 25 kg of fish per person from the state program for the development of the fishery complex. As explained in the department, this goal "indirectly duplicates the indicator on the level of self-sufficiency in fish," they say in the Ministry of Agriculture. In any case, this will not affect the real consumption of fish in the country. Other changes are planned in the state program.
