During the first 10 days of September, Ukraine experienced extremely hot and dry weather, with temperatures ranging from 2.5 to 6.8 degrees Celsius above average, peaking at 27-29.2 degrees. This period saw no rainfall in most areas, except for the western and southern regions where heavy rains fell. The lack of precipitation and high temperatures have led to unsatisfactory and insufficient moisture reserves in the arable soil layer in many areas, particularly for sugar beet cultivation. Some regions have as little as 30 millimeters of productive moisture, which is insufficient for the growth of root crops. However, a few western and Vinnytsia region areas have sufficient moisture, with up to 87 millimeters of productive moisture in the top meter of soil.
