Bulgaria: Nearly 20% growth in the price of greenhouse cucumbers in a week

Within the last week, there has been an increase in the average wholesale prices of the main fruits and vegetables offered at markets in the country, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture. The prices of Bulgarian greenhouse cucumbers (by 23.5%) and tomatoes (by about 15%, both Bulgarian and imported) have risen significantly. On an annual basis, there is also an increase in the prices of greenhouse cucumbers and tomatoes by 24.7% and 29.9% as follows A more moderate increase in average wholesale prices on a weekly basis was reported for apples, cabbage, red pepper and imported cucumbers (from 4.3% to 7.2%). On an annual basis, an increase in the price of apples by 13.3%, red pepper by 37.3% and 12.6% for imported cucumbers is also reported.
