The Brazilian government has announced that five of its companies have been temporarily suspended from exporting soybeans to China due to non-conformities, including the presence of non-approved pesticides and quarantine pests, detected in their shipments by China's General Administration of Customs. The suspension does not affect other units of the same companies that continue to export to China. The Brazilian Ministry of Agricultural Livestock and Food Supply (MAPA) is working with the affected companies and expects them to submit action plans to address the non-conformities. MAPA also plans to increase inspections of soybean shipments to China and will provide the Chinese authorities with all relevant information to aid in their evaluation.
