The grinding increased by almost seven percent overall; the average grinding per mill increased from 47,000 to 52,000 tons (plus nine percent). This is the result of the current data on the milling industry from the Federal Information Center for Agriculture (BZL). Overall, local mills ground almost 7.9 million tons of soft wheat, 680,000 tons of rye, around 330,000 tons of spelled and 460,000 tons of durum wheat. While the ground grain quantity for rye remained constant compared to the previous year, it increased by almost eight percent for spelt, seven percent for soft wheat and five percent for durum wheat be used to obtain the same amount of flour: 6.79 million tons of flour were obtained from 8.6 million tons of bread grain.
