Brazil: Heat accelerates maturation in Espírito Santo and the South of Bahia

The North of Espírito Santo and the South of Bahia have been affected by the current heat wave that much of Brazil is facing, which has accelerated the ripening of papaya and increased the volume harvested in the last week (13 to 17/11). Thus, prices were under pressure during the period. Formosa was sold for R$0.81/kg in the northern square of Espírito Santo, a drop of 17% compared to last week.
