Peanuts, fruits and olives partially made up the collapse in agro-industrial exports of Argentina

In August, some regional economies made it possible to partially cushion the drop in the turnover of the agro-export complex. According to the Argentine Agroindustrial Council (CAA), in that month foreign exchange income accumulated US$3,268 million, US$1,376 million less compared to the same month last year, 29.6% less. If the analysis extends to the first eight months of the year, the cumulative amount was US$25,020 million, 33.8% less than in the January-August 2022 period. But beyond the blow to billing that the drop in shipments of the soybean, wheat and corn complexes, activities such as peanuts, pears and apples and the olive sector increased their dollar income between 8% and 37%. This information is known after the removal of export duties from regional economies, which the Government announced at the beginning of September.
