A family in Ho Thau commune, Vietnam, has found success in switching from corn to pear tree cultivation, with the VH6 variety, thanks to support from authorities and farmers' associations. After planting 45 trees in 2016, they are expected to harvest nearly 1 ton of pears this year, bringing in an income of nearly 20 million VND. The VH6 pear is known for its easy care, resistance to pests, and high economic efficiency, and has been planted on 12 hectares of land in the commune, with plans to expand. The product's sweet taste and high market demand have led to significant income for many families, and the commune's leader sees potential for further expansion and poverty reduction.
