Even in the 2020/2021 season, during the pandemic, shipments remained solid and showed an increase of 18% in volume and 21% in value, reaching 468,594 tons for US$1,127 million. At present, grapes have established themselves as the main product in the Peruvian agro-export basket, with a 15% share, followed by blueberries, with 14%, and avocados, with 13%. Likewise, worldwide, at the end of 2021, Peru led the list of grape suppliers with an 11% share, surpassing China and Chile. Dynamics of the campaign Despite the higher volumes of grapes produced, the start of the 2021/2022 export campaign was slow.
